These two mares and yearling colt live in a federally protected herd in Utah. Because mustangs move continuously across hundreds of acres looking for food and water, when they come upon a water hole, they savor the cool water that is often not available to them. You can tell, just by looking at them, that they are in total bliss, but always on the alert.
