I absolutely adored this gorgeous Hereford bull.  He was used to people, as he had been a show bull at one time.  He was part of a six-breed bovine program at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum.  When I would visit him in his pen, he looked forward to me picking up the tight scraps of alfalfa that had fallen beyond his reach.  I loved sketching and taking photos of him.  He was referred to as a polled Hereford (no horns). An interesting fact about horns or no horns on a Hereford is that there are two varieties, obviously, polled and horned.  It used to be that the “two” were put into two different classes when shown or registered.  Now they are all together.  Makes sense to me.
