"Beauty in Being Free" Galloping Horses, Giclée

20x30 Open Edition Giclée by Kathy Winkler

There is nothing quite like watching horses gallop like the free spirits that they are out on the open prairie.  They run with such wild abandon and beauty.  Horses in the wild always live in tightly knit bands which include a stallion, a lead mare and subordinate mares with their foals.  It is interesting to note that the average wild horse band is generally seven horses.  This band of wild horses was found in Utah.

Several American pure-bred horses were developed from the American wild horse, i.e., the Quarter Horse, and horses of color such as the Palomino and Appaloosa.
